Case Study
Project Gallery

This entire website serves as a transparent Case Study for an Engineered multi-storey Bamboo Structure.

This building was always intended to be experimental, in using predominantly unspecialised and local labour. Showcasing the potential of Bamboo for anyone who is eager and willing to learn.

If you have followed from design to construction, you'll have picked up some tips, tricks and lessons learnt along the way.

This section shows our Complete Design Gallery and details our Project Constraints.

Walkthrough the Building

So here's is a final walkthrough of the project in its completion.

There was still some tidying up and installation of appliances to complete before opening the doors to the public, but all of the structural elements were now place.

Constraints & Successes

Overall we have fulfilled the design intent. Showcasing how it's possible to create something impressive with Bamboo, using simple framework and local community labour.

An important drive towards accessible housing and net zero construction .

It's important however that we don't paint a sugar-coated picture of the construction process. Like any project, there have been some significant drawbacks and little hurdles along the way. Transparency about these is important when considering the success of future bamboo builders.

There was much daily engineering judgment required throughout this process and it is recommended to onboard a structural expert if you are planning a build of your own.
